I feel so relaxed tonight.
No more waking up at unearthly hours for the next few weeks!
Yay!
And the fact that I'm on the bed as I'm typing this post.
Lazy me can't bring myself to clear the mess on the table, the chair and the floor.
Why?
Because the maid went for a weekend trip with the aunt and uncle.
And for 2 days, my bed is unmade. It looks exactly the way it did when I woke up on Saturday morning.
The laundry is piled high on the chair cos there's no one to bring them to the laundry basket.
My stuff from school which were brought back on Friday are still scattered on the floor.
With the maid not around, her services are undeniably missed.
Even the brother feels the same way cos he realised that the state of our rooms are the same without bibik!
Tsk tsk.
Such bummers...
I guess we never realised how orderly things are when she's around.
She's only been away for like 2 days and our rooms look like they've been hit by a torpedo.
Even when she returns to her homeland for like a month once every 2 years, there's always someone else to do all these chores.
We just never realised the conveniency that has been bestowed upon us.
The trip was a treat from my aunt as a Mother's Day gift.
And we, or at least I, treated my mum (& family) to dinner last night at our all-time favourite North Indian restaurant down at Holiday Inn.
Yummay!
I can't afford to buy gifts for Mum so it's better to treat her to dinner.
A few hundred bucks is still affordable.
But Mother's Day has been over-rated by commercialisation.
Every day is Mother's Day.
We've never had a tradition of celebrating this day but since there wasn't any food at home, having dinner outside was a great idea.
Plus, we've been putting off dinner plans for a few weeks and this week seemed like the perfect timing... Mother's Day and all.
But since it's THE day, I can't expect Mum to foot the bill. Heh.
So it sort of became a Mom's Day celebration for us.
Anyway, bibik's back today.
I can expect to look forward to a much cleaner room tomorrow. =)
Good night.
